Spring Clean Your Goals!

Look back, but step forward

meerkat looking backIt’s traditional to think about setting goals at the end of one year to start the next. However, spring is a great time to review and think ahead. As we approach the halfway point of the year, it’s worth asking yourself these questions and thinking how to move forward those that are stuck.

Here’s a mini quiz to help you reflect and plan, to clarify your goals midyear, determine your next steps and put them into action.

2. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, how satisfied are you with the progress of your goals?

3. Which of the goals and resolutions you set at New Year have you fully achieved?

4. Which of the goals and resolutions you set at New Year have you partly achieved?

5. Which of your original goals and resolutions have become redundant or irrelevant?

6. List your goals going forward.

7. Prioritise them in order of importance 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc

8. Which is the most immediate goal for you to achieve now?
a)     What tasks have you already actioned towards realising it?

b)    What tasks will you need to undertake to bring this to success?

c)     How long will each task take you?

d)    What is your deadline date for succeeding in this goal?

e)    When (what dates and times) will you carry out these tasks?

f)      Make a plan for your goal by entering the tasks related to them in your planner, whether hard copy or online calendar.

9. What is the most important goal for you to achieve next? Follow the guidelines in (8) above.

10. What is your third most important goal? Again, follow the guidelines in (8) above.

Keep sight of your life coaching goals

photo of lake Take care not to lose sight of your goals. Perhaps make a vision board to place on the wall. Keep your goals in view as a constant reminder to progress them and work constantly towards your personal and professional aspirations and a greater quality of life.

Take action

It’s one thing to set goals, and another to achieve them. It can be challenging. Other things in life can take over and push them to a later time.
